Monty Williams delivered a powerful message to his team before the game: "You guys are built for this"

Monty Williams

The Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Lakers 99-90 in their first playoff game and proved they are a tough and talented group. Devin Booker led the Suns with 34 points, while DeAndre Ayton also had a big game with 21 points and 16 big rebounds.

The game as a whole was full of dramatic events with hard-nosed plays all over the place, Chris Paul's shoulder injury, and a scuffle that led to an incident between several players and ejections. However, the Suns proved they demand respect even though they were considered an underdog by many.

One of the unsung heroes on that team is Monty Williams, who showcased that he is a great coach and a true leader of the Suns. Right before tip-off, Monty huddled everyone around and gave them a short but direct and motivational message on what he expects from them in the playoffs.
