Mikal Bridges has hilarious response to JJ Redick asking who was his least favorite teammate on the Phoenix Suns - "Get him the hell away from me"
The Kevin Durant trade between the Phoenix Suns and Brooklyn Nets before the trade deadline was an absolutely shocking deal. And while everyone will pay attention to Durant and the potential impact he can make with the Suns once he returns from an MCL sprain, it's also worth noting that the Nets got a pair of really good players in Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. So far, though, Bridges in particular has looked to be on the verge of breaking out with Brooklyn.
Bridges' hilariously reveals his least favorite teammate on the Phoenix Suns
In just his third game with the Nets, Bridges showed the potential he possesses as Brooklyn's go-to option on offense. Bridges poured in 45 points on 17/24 shooting from the field while also hauling in eight rebounds, dishing out five assists, and recording two steals and blocks apiece. Bridges did a little bit of everything with the Suns, but now it looks like he could also become the Nets' leader on offense.
Bridges grew a lot of a player during his time with the Suns, and while he's excited to be on the Nets, it's clear that leaving Phoenix was tough for him. Now that he's off of the Suns and on the Nets, JJ Redick asked Bridges an important question; who was Bridges' least favorite teammate during his time with the Suns? Bridges answered the question hilariously on a recent episode of Redick's podcast "The Old Man and The Three".
"Bismack Biyombo. Tell I don't like Bis, get him the hell away from me. Bismack, f***ing Bis." - Mikal Bridges, The Old Man and The Three
Does Bridges actually not like Bismack Biyombo?
Without the context of the video, it would seem like Bridges actually doesn't like Bismack Biyombo here. But if you watch the video, Bridges is laughing throughout his response, showing that he is just teasing his former big-man teammate. Throughout his time with the Suns, Bridges and Biyombo were good friends, and that almost certainly won't change now that they play on two separate teams.
If Bridges does have a teammate on the Suns he doesn't like, he obviously isn't going to air them out on Redick's podcast, so it's not surprising to see that he chose to tease his good friend Biyombo when asked. It might not have been the answer that Redick was hoping for, but it still was entertaining nonetheless, and at the end of the day, that's what basketball fans are looking for.
