NBA 2K22 settles the GOAT debate

Who would win in a game of 1-on-1 -- Michael Jordan or LeBron James? Basketball Gods didn't put the two in the same era for us to know the answer to that question. But basketball AIs do have their say on the matter.

"I don't think I would lose," Michael Jordan said when asked about playing other all-time greats in a game of 1-on-1. "Other than to Kobe Bryant because he steals all of my moves."

The list of players MJ wished he had played against during his prime includes Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Julius Erving, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. But the one matchup that would undoubtedly draw the most attention is MJ vs. The King.

The two are in most fans' discussion for the greatest of all time, and their head-to-head matchup would probably settle the debate once and for all. Would LeBron's physicality be too much for Jordan? Would he be able to capitalize on the size difference he has over No.23? Would Jordan's skill set alone do the trick? Would his defensive tenacity be enough to lock down James?

MJ himself had something to say about this specific matchup.

"I know this is the ESPN question. I know it's gonna be all over ESPN. If I was in my prime, could I beat LeBron in a one-on-one game? No question. And he's going to say no question!"
