Luka Doncic to host 3x3 tournament in the middle of Slovenian lake on one of the most beautiful courts you'll ever see

Luka Magic hosts a 3x3 tournament on Lake Bled, showcasing new Jordan sneakers and celebrating his Slovenian roots.

Imagine an event awaiting you, where you can enjoy a fun pickup basketball game with your pals, but this isn't just any ordinary event or game, it's not taking place indoors in a gym either. Instead, it unfolds outdoors, under the radiant summer sun, right in the middle of Europe - specifically in the heart of what's often referred to as the "Green Piece of Europe," Slovenia. This nickname is bestowed upon this Balkan country due to its breathtaking natural beauty - serene forests, majestic mountains, and enchanting lakes.

And now, picture none other than the maestro himself, Luka Doncic, extending a special invitation as the gracious host. He's inviting you to a unique event - a 3x3 Tournament in his home country. This tournament is set to take place on an incredible court - one that floats in the stunning scenery of a Slovenian gem, Lake Bled, nestled near the Julian Alps.

What might seem unimaginable at first becomes a reality thanks to the incredible event hosted by the Mavs superstar. Beginning on September 16th, this event is tailor-made for a select group of talented basketball players. However, this event is more than just a fun-filled game. Doncic is using this opportunity to emphasize his partnership with the Jordan Brand, introducing a new colorway of his Air Jordan signature sneakers, the "LUKA 2 BLED," set to hit the market.

From humble beginnings to own signature shoe

Doncic was born about 45 minutes away from Lake Bled in the Slovenian capital city, Ljubljana. The point guard spent his early years there until the age of 12 before making the move to Real Madrid's youth team. However, his time with the youth team was short-lived. At just 16, he made his debut in the senior team and quickly rose to become one of the greatest talents in the history of European basketball. Even as a very young player playing against much older foes, he achieved significant and even historic successes. In the 2017-18 season, he helped lead Real Madrid to victory in the EuroLeague, and in doing so he became the youngest player ever to receive the league's MVP award.

After being selected as the third overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2018 NBA Draft, only to be swiftly traded to the Dallas Mavericks on the same night, he has become the face of the Mavericks franchise. In Texas he is poised to follow in the footsteps of fellow European player Dirk Nowitzki. From the start of his rookie season, his talent was undeniable and was rightfully named the Rookie of the Year in the 2018-19 season.

In NBA, his path of making history continued. With an astounding triple-double of 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, he became the first player ever to achieve a triple-double with such an astronomical points total. This also stands as his highest-scoring game in the NBA.

As one of the brightest talents in the NBA, the attention wasn't limited to his on-court skills. Potential partners and associates increasing interest. The race to secure a shoe contract with Doncic was fiercely competitive, eventually won by the Jordan Brand in late 2019.

Doncic's eventful summer

It seems that this partnership aims to elevate itself to the next level and generate quite a buzz through such an event. His second Jordan shoe hit the market early this summer, but now, a brand-new colorway is set to follow. With this, Doncic aims to emphasize his Slovenian roots, paying homage to his heritage and their flag. The chosen colors include a vibrant palette of polar white, scarlet red, and various shades of blue. Notably, recycled materials have been utilized in the manufacturing process, highlighting a commitment to sustainability.

The beautiful location, which will become an unforgettable experience for a select group of event participants, already holds significant meaning for Dončić. It was right here that he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Anamaria Goltes, a few weeks ago, as captured on Social Media.

With an impending wedding, a new shoe release alongside a mega-event, and his upcoming participation in the upcoming FIBA World Cup, there's quite a lot on Luka "Magic's" plate both professionally and privately. Here's to wishing the maestro all the best and much success in his endeavors.
