Luka Doncic frustrated at FIBA after semi-final loss: "FIBA is probably happy!"

In what was arguably the most exciting game of the Olympic basketball tournament thus far, Batum's game-saving block gave France the edge in a remarkably close contest against Slovenia (90-89). France is off to the Finals, where they'll meet Team USA again, ensuring an excellent showdown for every basketball fan around the world.

Luka was alluding to the potential game-changing moment when Jaka Blazic earned a technical foul after protesting a goaltending no-call. Instead of going up by 2, Slovenia went down by 4, following one free throw and a quick three-pointer by France. Slovenians will indeed be haunted by this referee decision, as it could have changed the course of basketball history and lead a nation of two million people to the Olympic Finals with Team USA.

Accepting a loss of such magnitude is tough for anyone, let alone for Doncic, one of the best in the game. But Luka will quickly forget about blaming the refs and FIBA because the tournament is not over — Slovenia faces Australia in the Bronze medal game on Saturday, August 7. While they are out of championship contention, I am confident we'll see another remarkable performance from Luka in an attempt to bring home the Bronze.
