LeBron James talks about what impressed him the most with LaMelo Ball

LaMelo Ball has been one of the most pleasant surprises this season and a great pick-up by the Charlotte Hornets in last year's draft. After being somewhat inconsistent in the first part of the season, LaMelo really picked up his game and is now a starter for the Hornets, currently sitting in the 6th spot in a much more competitive eastern conference. The Hornets have a great group of talent, but it seems LaMelo has established himself as one of their go-to players in crucial moments of the game when he delivers either through scoring or getting his teammates involved and setting them up to score.

After their first game against each other day, LeBron James is another person who is impressed with everything he saw so far from LaMelo. After their first game against each other the other day, in which the Lakers won, LeBron was full of praise for LaMelo and how he plays the game.

He's damn good for his age. His speed, his quickness, his ability to make shots in the paint. Floaters, 3s, he has the 3 tier already, and he's only going to get better. Every game is a learning experience for him. He is going to get better as the season goes on, as his career goes on … He and Lonzo are 2 very unique players in our league, and they showcase that every night.

LaMelo is currently averaging 16 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds while shooting 45 percent from the field and 37 percent from three, which is quite effective for a kid that still needs to find more consistency in his shooting. He is the leading candidate to win the Rookie of The Year award, and if he continues to play at this level, there is no doubt he will win it at the end of the season. On top of that, the Hornets are looking like a great team with decent chances of making the playoffs if everyone, including LaMelo, stays healthy and plays the way they were playing so far this season. Good things are ahead of LaMelo, and the Hornets and the future definitely looks bright for Michael Jordan's franchise.
