LaMarcus Aldridge Is Having His NBA Best Season
LaMarcus Aldridge is having a career renaissance this season after a (relatively) slow start to his time in San Antonio. The Spurs have also had an interesting period with a couple of bad games in a row alongside a very good streak for the past couple of weeks against top teams.
LaMarcus is definitely the key reason for Spurs' success lately as he is averaging 23 points per game which is his second 2nd highest average in his entire career so far. His True Shooting has also drastically improved with 57% in that regard and this is also his career-high.
Spurs All-Star is currently grabbing little over 8 rebounds per game, however, he is 5th in the league with 3 offensive rebounds per game which is also his career-high. LaMarcus has been really active on both ends of the floor on a nightly basis. His PER has also been off the charts this season with 24.9 in his 12th NBA season.

Unfortunately for SA Spurs, their best player, Kawhi has been out for the majority of this season, playing only 9 games with limited minutes. There also no indication for Kawhi's return this season as he will probably miss the rest of the regular season with playoffs.
LaMarcus has been arguably the best defensive player on a top-5 defensive team this season. His horribly injured bare-bones team is in fourth place in the West, and it's largely his doing. Hopefully, he can find his way onto some MVP and All-NBA ballots come voting time.
