Kevin Durant names his Mt. Rushmore of bucket-getters since 2000

Carmelo Anthony and Dirk Nowitzki didn't make KD's list of four best scorers of the 21st century.

Kevin Durant is one of the greatest bucket getters the NBA has ever seen. Despite standing almost seven feet tall, he possesses the scoring abilities of guards and forwards who are way shorter than him.

That's why it wasn't a surprise that KD named himself on his Mt. Rushmore of bucket-getters since 2000. The same can be said for the other three guys Kevin mentioned.

LeBron is no surprise on the list

LeBron James, who started his NBA journey in 2003, is the league's all-time leading scorer. With 39,643 career points, LeBron is a mere 357 points away from becoming the first player in NBA history to score at least 40,000.

Despite recently turning 39 and playing in his 21st NBA season, James is averaging a ridiculous 24.8 points per contest.

Kobe Bryant, meanwhile, is fourth on the NBA's all-time scoring list. The Black Mamba scored a total of 33,643 career points throughout his legendary career. That includes 30,888 points since the year 2000, which is third-best during that span, behind only LeBron and Dirk Nowitzki.

Kobe also owns the second-highest scoring game in NBA history when he lit up the Toronto Raptors for 81 points in 2006.

Durant has won four scoring titles this century, and his 27.3 points per game since 2000 ranks second behind Allen Iverson's 27.5. Meanwhile, McGrady only has 18,381 career points, but he won two scoring titles and had some iconic scoring performances, including dropping 13 points in 33 seconds against the San Antonio Spurs.

A less controversial Mt. Rushmore

When he interviewed Durant in November 2022, Henderson asked 'The Slim Reaper' to name his Mt. Rushmore of small forwards. KD picked himself, LeBron, Larry Bird, and Kawhi Leonard.

While no one questioned Kevin's decision to go with James and Bird, many raised their eyebrows about him picking Leonard ahead of the likes of Julius Erving, Scottie Pippen, and Dominique Wilkins.

Durant's Mt. Rushmore of scorers, however, is unlikely to draw the same reaction, although some might argue that either Dirk or Carmelo Anthony should be there instead of T-Mac.
