Kevin Durant explains why All-Star players don't want to play for the Knicks

The New York Knicks are one of the most popular NBA teams in the world, despite the fact they haven’t had any major success in recent years. The Knicks are also a team that has the biggest net worth mostly because of the big market they operate in. However, for the past couple of years, numerous All-Star players are avoiding the Knicks as a place to continue their careers which is obviously one part of the equation why they haven’t had much success in making the playoffs.

Kevin Durant who was one of the biggest free agents this summer decided to leave the Warriors and join the Brooklyn Nets. A couple of months before the free agency started there were rumors floating around how the Knicks are feeling confident in landing Durant and several other big names. Obviously that didn’t happen and this is not the first time the Knicks strike out in free agency and according to Kevin Durant there is a good reason for this.

In a recent interview Durant didfor the Real Michael Kelly show, gave more insight on why the Knicks are not considered as a good organisation for All-Star players. Durant gave a pretty straight forward explanation how players nowadays grew up watching Knicks being awful and they are simply not cool anymore as they once were, especially back in the 90’s when they were actually competing for championships on several occasions.
