Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in the same uniform is looking promising

As things currently stand, the 33-year-old superstar made Phoenix a priority. They better do the same about him.

We are all waiting at home for the notification to pop up on our phone about a Kevin Durant-Kyrie Irving trade. But now, the waters are getting calmer, adding much more urgency for the Suns to make their desperate move before it's too late.

Waters might erupt

There are reports that the Nets are under no obligation to fulfill Kevin Durant's requests. The flip side is that they will get something incredible for him. We already know Scottie Barnes was used as a trading chip, and more will have come and gone that we are unaware of. The other side of that coin is, the Nets will do anything they can not to trade Durant if they can bring him back and keep him happy.

Part of that might be about losing Kyrie Irving -- and no, acquiring Russell Westbrook can't be the solution to that problem. With KD calling for a plane out of Brooklyn to Phoenix, the reality of Booker and Durant on the same team -- two outstanding, coachable, reliable scorers -- suddenly becomes a lot brighter and a lot scarier.

We know that KD respects Booker not only as a talent -- he's played with plenty of talent and gotten nowhere -- but as a winning player; one that knows how to win.

Russell Westbrook was all talent, but the exact opposite of a winning player. That's why he's won eight playoff games since leaving KD while together, they won 47. KD, on the other hand, has continued winning.

Kyrie is not a winning player. James Harden (this post-Houston version) is not a winning player. You can say that KD only won with the Warriors, but he has carried himself like a champ, played like a champ, and while he maybe didn't lead a team like a champ, there's a long reach between him and his former teammates.

Suns are always in play

The Suns might not have the best package out there, but it's achievable to secure Durant. But you have to remember; teams don't want to give up their entire youth and star players on the chance that KD walks out for nothing when it is over. And based on reports, the Suns won't have to.
