The Minnesota Timberwolves haven't had the start to their season that they were anticipating early this year. Despite playing the San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz, and Oklahoma City Thunder twice, the Timberwolves have only managed to win two of their first four games, leaving fans to wonder whether or not they will be able to make a jump in the Western Conference standings this season.
KAT has a simple request for Edwards
It's still early in the season, and the Timberwolves are figuring out how to incorporate all their talent in order to get the best out of their roster. It's resulted in some rocky performances from Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards early on. Towns was horribly inefficient in the first two games of the season, and while Edwards has a pair of 30-point outings, he's combined for just 20 points on 7/32 shooting in the other two games.
Towns appears to be turning the corner, but he's waiting for Edwards to become more consistent. Towns believes that for Edwards to reach his full potential, he will have to start taking better care of his body. Edwards added some muscle this offseason, but Towns believes that he will need to change his diet to truly take the next step forward.
Edwards may want to heed KAT's advice
In the modern world of sports, athletes are looking for every advantage they can find, and eating healthier is a trend many athletes have begun to pick up. Preserving your body, especially throughout a grueling 82-game NBA season, is crucial, and Edwards' inconsistencies hint that he may need to change things up if he wants to see improvements.
Edwards has proven that he has the potential to be one of the best scorers in the NBA. But he's been very inconsistent to start his career, and that's carried over into this season. For him to be at his best every night, he needs to feel his best every night and eating at fast food chains such as Popeyes, as Towns mentions in the clip above, likely won't help with that.
Towns probably could have taken a better route than airing his grievances with Edwards to the media, but the point is clear. The Timberwolves have championship aspirations after their explosive offseason, but for them to reach those goals, they will need Edwards to reach his potential. Towns believes this change will help him improve, and it will be interesting to see whether Edwards takes the advice of his veteran teammate.
