In a short video, Kareem congratulated LeBron on his life long achievement of passing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list and also said something very impactful that if one day LeBron really becomes the all-time leading scorer in the NBA, he would be proud of him because he considers LeBron being a true role model with a lot of class.

Hey LeBron, I just wanted to congratulate you on your most recent accomplishment passing Michael Jordan. I know he was your hero and how much it means to you to pass someone that you admire your entire life. The same thing happened to me back in 1984 and I was able to pass Wilt's record and someone that I admired when I was a kid so I know what that means to you and it's a very special day so congratulations for that. Everybody is asking me how will I react if he passes my record and one thing I have to say is if and when that happens I will be glad it's somebody that has shown us much class as you have. All the best and enjoy.
