Josh Hart had a unique comment about Jimmy Butler's competitive switch: "Jimmy kind of does side quests during the year until about April"

Hart says Butler cruises during the regular season and waits for the playoffs to hit the switch.

Ahead of their Tuesday matchup, New York Knicks swingman Josh Hart provided a hilarious yet intriguing perspective on Jimmy Butler. He said that the six-time All-Star is all fun and games until he decides to flip the switch and dominate once the playoffs start.

"Jimmy kind of does side quests during the year until about April. Then he starts locking in," he said. "I'm sure people are going to see that maniac competitive side now that he's done with the side quests and he's on to the main quest."

Playoff Jimmy

Butler has been enjoying plenty of wild and exciting off-court stuff this season, adding layers to his somewhat goofy personality. Besides his infamous emo look during the team's media day, he showcased his dance moves in the latest music video for Fall Out Boy's "So Much (For) Stardust," stirring funny reactions around the league circles.

But when it matters the most and winning the title is on the line; the former Golden Eagle suddenly elevates his game to its highest level. He is an intimidating player to face when in his "Playoff Jimmy" form, and the leadership he showed during the eight-seed Heat's improbable Cinderella run in last year's playoffs is a testament to his ability.

Championship aspirations in Miami

Jimmy remains motivated to carry the Heat again. Despite their failure to win it all in their two Finals appearances, the 34-year-old star still boldly proclaimed that an NBA championship would arrive in just a matter of time for Miami.

"A championship is coming to the future in Miami," Butler said in last year's interview. "I believe that with all my heart that we, I, will win a championship for the Heat because I don't plan on playing for another NBA team. The next time I'm talking to ya'll here, I'll be a one-time NBA champion."

We can only wonder what would unfold for Jimmy and his Miami squad as the playoffs get closer. With seven games left in their regular season, they are currently in the No. 7 spot of the Eastern Conference with a 42-33 record and just 0.5 games away from evading a potential Play-In game.

Regardless of their matchup and position on the final standings, everyone can only brace for a storm coming from Playoff Jimmy and his feisty Heat bunch.
