John Salley has a lot of incredible stories from his NBA career, and in a recent interview with VladTV, he shared an anecdote when Kobe Bryant told him why he decided to skip college and enter the NBA straight out of high school. According to Salley, Kobe didn't want to miss out on a chance to play against Jordan before he retires.
"I heard Michael was retiring and I wanted to play against him before he retires. He said he wanted to play against Michael and he didn't want to miss out playing against Michael especially at this time."
Salley also said Kobe had a phase in his career when he imitated everything Michael did from the way he was walking to the way he talked. This obviously translated into his game as well which was in its very essence almost the same as Jordan's.
"I would watch Kobe literally imitate everything Michael was doing, to the walk to the talk. I watched him say to Michael how if they were both in their primes he would bust his ass."
