Jimmy Butler dominates the Minnesota Timberwolves practice by sending a message to the front office - "You can't win without me"

Jimmy Butler gets in a heated discussion with the Wolves management

Jimmy Butler

"You f**ing need me, Scott. You can't win without me." Jimmy Butler made his feelings known to Scott Layden, the Timberwolves' GM, during his return to practice in Minnesota. The entire organization was in the gym as Jimmy made a point and played with the third-string players and dominated the practice session. Butler is known for his intensity, so when everyone reports he was at 110%, you know, it was amazing and a sight to see.

Butler came out and wanted to make a statement

That was Butler's first appearance in a team scrimmage since his trade request three weeks ago. He made it his mission to challenge Towns and Wiggins on the court but didn't spare words for Thibodeau and Layden as well.

Reports indicate coaches and players were largely speechless through the entire event. It is still being determined if this is a permanent return to Minnesota or if Butler just returned to make a statement and put additional pressure on the organization to trade him. As we wrote before, the closest Butler came to a trade was with Miami, but then Thibodeau and the team asked, as a Heat source said, "The firstborn of all our kids."

The Heat are seriously interested in Butler

Miami is reportedly ready to come back at the table, and this may be the push the Wolves needed to make the trade. Although, Jimmy just showed the Wolves how valuable he is, maybe not a good move from a game theory perspective.

"It was bad," one Timberwolves staff member told Real GM's, Keith Smith. "Guys come in angry, having bad days all the time. This was as bad as I've ever seen a practice in my years in the NBA."
