Jarrett Allen clowns Kevin Love — “Kevin’s 52 years old”

You can spot if a team authentically has good chemistry, and the Cavs pass the test.

Jarrett Allen and Kevin Love

The Cleveland Cavaliers are entering the regular season with a fine balance of young players and veterans. Kevin Love is among the team's elder statesmen, and the thought is not lost on Jarrett Allen, who poked fun at the 14-year veteran by saying he is 52 years old. Of course, Love is 18 years younger than Allen teased him about being.

The big men connection

It's not the first time the two big men showed great chemistry. During a match last season, Allen was subbing in for Love. But the 34-year-old jokingly stood still on the court, so Allen had to "force" him out to the sideline.

In a later contest, Allen had just performed a game-winning defensive stop. Love was the first to hug his 6-foot-10 teammate and even told him that he is a fuc**ng All-Star. Allen did earn his first All-Star berth several days after.

Budding Cavs chemistry

The camaraderie the Cavs teammates have been displaying so far is surely music to the ears of fans who hope to see the squad make a deep postseason run this campaign.

Cleveland is on the right track after a solid showing in the 2021-22 season. After three losing seasons, the Cavs finally finished above the .500 mark with a 44-38 record.

The chemistry among their current players is evident, with Love recently gushing about the high-character people within the organization.

"I think it's just the temperament of this group," Love said. "It's one thing to say and it's one thing to actually see it live here. More than anything, guys have a willingness to just listen, able to really communicate at a very high level. I think that all starts with J.B. [Bickerstaff] but trickles down through the coaching staff. I think we just have very, very high character people, let alone players, out here with us. I think we've gotten better every practice so far. I know it's only a small sample size. But I think guys' willingness to get better, to communicate and do the right thing is very high level so far."

It remains to be seen how far Cleveland goes this season.
