Ahead of tonight's game against between the Clippers and the Lakers, Jared Dudley talked about to the media about the rivalry between these two teams. The Clippers and Lakers are currently the best two teams in the western conference, and so far in their matchups, the Clippers showed they were a better team.
Dudley said it's a good rivalry, but at the same time, he threw a bit of shade on the Clippers saying it's not like some other rivalries against teams that actually won NBA championships.
"It's huge. It's a good rivalry. It's a little fun. It's not like a serious rivalry. It's not like they have any banners hanging up. Trust me, I would know, I played for them. But it's a rivalry where you have Kawhi who demands respect. LeBron, obviously, he demands respect. They are playing high basketball, and they have Doc Rivers who played that. We keep hearing they beat us twice and if we want to win a championship we have to get over them to get to it.
The Clippers beat the Lakers twice this season, with Kawhi averaging 32.5 points in these two games. Since the last time they've met, the Clippers even added more depth to their roster and are after a long time are healthy, which resulted in a six-game winning streak they currently have. The Lakers, on the other hand, have three straight wins with the last one coming against the Bucks on Friday, which definitely gave a positive boost to the team ahead of tonight's game.
