Why Jalen Rose believes Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in basketball

Jalen Rose believes Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently the best player in basketball. The player turned sports analysts pointed out three areas about Giannis that impressed him the most.

Giannis is the best player in basketball

Rose declared the Bucks star as the best player in basketball on the Jalen & Jacoby podcast. The NBA is full of superstars with different skill sets, but what caught the former Indiana Pacers players are the improvements in Antetokounmpo’s game.

“He ended up improving his game and his shot to the point where the free throws helped them win the championship. Tells me a lot about this man’s mental capacity and his work ethic and discipline. Now he’s shooting at three with confidence. And i know we are excited about so many players in the league but Giannis is the best player in basketball.”

Jalen pointed out three areas: Giannis’s improved free-throw shooting, 3-point shooting, and willingness to work on his game. Shooting wasn’t exactly Antetokounmpo’s best asset, but he worked hard to improve his efficiency and accuracy to the point where opposing teams need to respect his jump shots.

Darkhorse for MVP

That’s what separates the 2-time MVP from others. He turned his weakness into one of his strengths. The difference in mindset is vast compared to Ben Simmons, who still has yet to show his willingness to improve his shoot.

Is Giannis the best player in basketball now? Jojo Embiid and Nikola Jokic are two MVP favorites, but fans shouldn’t sleep on Giannis. He’s matured, evolved, and experienced winning it all. Something that Embiid and Jokic have yet to achieve in the NBA.

As long as Antetokounmpo remains hungry, humble, and driven, the sky’s the limit for him. Milwaukee Bucks will go as far as he can take them, and that’s good news for fans because the 27-year-old has not reached his ceiling yet.
