GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO DESCRIBES what's next for him after it was announced he won the regular-season MVP award

Earlier today, it was officially announced Giannis Antetokounmpo is the regular-season MVP for the second straight time in his career. Giannis is doing some pretty historic things by becoming the only third player in NBA history to win MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season, joining only Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon. Despite this individual accomplishment, there is a bitter taste since the Milwaukee Bucks were completely outmatched in the second round against the Miami Heat, and Giannis didn't play on the same level as he did during the regular season.

There were immediate rumors about Giannis potentially leaving the Bucks to play for a franchise that can give him better support on a quest for multiple championships. After it was announced he won the MVP award, Giannis made a guest appearance on Inside the NBA with Ernie Johnson. He said he is not thinking about leaving but did talk with the management about this team's future.

Right now, I'm focusing on my family. I was in the bubble for almost 2 months. I'm focusing on them, visiting my mom, and spending time with my family. I don't think about it as much on what I will do next. When the time comes to talk about the contract and a long future with Milwaukee that is going to be that time, I will be in that moment. Right now, I want to keep getting better, focus on my family. Obviously, I had a great meeting with the owners, talking about the team and what we did wrong and what we can do to improve. As long as everybody is on the same page, and everybody is aspiring for the same thing, which is to be a championship, I don't see why not to be in Milwaukee for the next 15 years.

During the regular season, Giannis averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, but it was evident there wasn't something working with the team's chemistry in the bubble. They will definitely need to make some changes to the roster, and it will be interesting which moves they can make in the off-season.

On numerous occasions, Giannis said that he is the old-school type of guy who wants to stay loyal to one franchise for his entire career. However, we heard that before from players, but one thing is for sure. The management of the Bucks will have to do everything in their power to add more pieces around Giannis if they want to reach the NBA finals
