From sharing basketball shoes with his brothers to having his own signature shoe with Nike

Nike has announced they are releasing Giannis Antetokounmpo's first signature shoe "The Zoom Freak 1". It will be available for sale from July 1st and it's a true representation of the success Giannis had in recent years and especially when you take into consideration his family background.

Giannis and his brother both grew up in a poor household back in Greece, which led to a situation where they had to share one pair of basketball shoes. Their childhood was incredibly difficult but they managed to overcome it and Giannis is the first one who remembers the hard road his family had to endure to get to this point.

An incredible anecdote about sharing one pair of basketball shoes was told by Gianni's brother Thanasis. There were often games when they played together and had to exchange that one pair of shoes during the actual game.

"Let's say Giannis is playing. Then he has to sub out. I have to switch shoes and I gotta come in and play. Then you beat the other team and the other team is looking at you crazy."

Even though he didn't win the championship this season, Giannis took home the MVP award which is proof of all the hard work he invested but also the sacrifice he and his family had to make. Giannis truly is a true MVP.
