Enes Kanter believes Zion Williamson is "over-hyped"

Months before the NBA draft we knew Zion Williamson will be taken as the number one pick, and finally, we know he is going to the New Orleans Pelicans who lost Anthony Davis in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Zion is seen as the prodigy and the next superstar in the NBA and if he stays healthy sky is the limit for this kid. However, not everybody thinks Zion is the best upcoming young player in, and Enes Kanter is one of them. In a recent interview on the show "The Herd" Kanter was asked whether Zion is actually overrated on which he said people are scared to say he is over-hyped.

"I kind of feel like Zion is over-hyped. I feel like he is Julius Randle with "hops". That's what I believe. Some people are scared to say it but you know me I'm not scared to say anything."

It's fair to say there are still a lot of question marks around Zion despite him being one of the most talented young players in recent years. He still needs to develop a consistent jump shot and ball handling abilities in order to present a threat from pretty much anywhere on the court. Pelicans will be stacked with young and talented players next season and it will be interesting if Zion can immediately impose himself as the best player on that team.
