Dwyane Wade played in his 1000th NBA game

Dwyane achieved almost everything in his long and storied career predominantly as a member of the Miami Heat. He won three NBA championship and already has so many accolades many players could only dream about having.

A testament to Wade's longevity was in full display last night in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers which was Wade's 1000th career game. Wade turned back the clock of time and delivered an impressive performance coming from the bench scoring a game-high 25 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

"I don't even know the significance of 1,000 games. I don't know if it's a big deal. I think it's just another number."

Miami Heat's coach Erik Spoelstra was also impressed by Wade's performance and he wasn't even aware it was Wade's 1000th game in the NBA.

"That's crazy to think about. He's showed an incredible amount of perseverance and resiliency," Spoelstra said. "That might be one of the main things that I'll preach and teach to young players, to be able to show the grit it takes. The second thing, which is just as important about Dwyane, is he reinvented himself and committed so much off the court so that he could perform and be healthy and play how he wanted to play."

Out of the 1000 games played so far this season, this was Wade's 894 in a Miami Heat Jersey. After his short stints with the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers Wade finally came back where he truly belongs. He accepted his role and is having a really productive season coming off the bench averaging 14.3 points, 3.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
