Draymond Green mocks Jusuf Nurkic after his fight with Naji Marshall: "The brother needs some help"

Draymond Green trolled Jusuf Nurkic by saying Nurk got himself suspended for fighting Naji Marshall because he did not want to play the Warriors the next day.

Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic went from being relegated to a bench role to playing no minutes at all during the Sun's most recent game against the Atlanta Hawks. But before those role changes, Nurk got involved in a fight with Dallas Mavericks big man Naji Marshall and earned a three-game suspension from the league.

Looking back at the incident, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, who has a history with Nurk, trolled the Bosnian Beast by telling him what he told Draymond last year after their own on-court altercation.

"I hope that brother got the help he needs because it was random, man. It was just like out of nowhere, like something's wrong in his life. He must really be going through a hard time in life to just go back and swing like that. Or possibly he didn't want to play against the team that he was going to play the next day; that could be a thought," said Green.

Maybe Nurk didn't want to play against Draymond

Curiously, the Suns were scheduled to face the Golden State Warriors after playing the Mavericks. With Nurk and Dray having a history with each other, Green believes that maybe Jusuf wanted to avoid another confrontation with him.

It can be recalled that Green struck Nurkic in the face during a Suns vs. Warriors game last season and earned a 12-game suspension. This time around, Nurk swung at Marshall with an open hand, and Marshall retaliated with a punch that appeared not to land on Nurk.

"You can't swing and then get pushed on the ground and like grab your face and cry about it," added Dray. "Once you swing, it was you that kind of said, 'This is what it is, so I was just a little surprised. The brother needs some help. I hope he gets the help he needs."

It was Jusuf who first said that line to Draymond

As mentioned earlier, Green was merely returning the favor on Nurkic. What he said were the exact words that The Bosnian Beast told reporters after their December 2023 incident.

"What's going on with him, I don't know. Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I'm glad he didn't try to choke me," Nurkic told reporters.

These two have been going back and forth ever since that incident, so it won't be a surprise to hear a reply from Nurkic soon. Golden State hosts Phoenix on January 31; we'll see if Nurkic avoids Green again by fighting with someone from the Timberwolves in their game before that.
