Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert

Donovan Mitchell seems to be enjoying his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. While complimenting his new teammates, Mitchell couldn't resist subtly throwing shade at his former Utah Jazz running mate Rudy Gobert.

Mitchell-Gobert beef

The All-Star duo of Mitchell and Gobert helped the Jazz become regular playoff contenders in the previous five seasons. However, they could never advance past the Western Conference semifinals during that stretch.

In addition, the media constantly put their relationship under the microscope because of the rumored tension between them. Of course, the pair were saying all the right things publicly and displayed solid chemistry on the court. Still, it was an open secret across the league that they disliked one another. It even came to the point that they reportedly could not stand each other last season.

Mitchell loving it in The Land

Fortunately for Mitchell, Utah traded him to a Cleveland squad that was a piece or two away from becoming a true title contender. And it seems the 26-year-old guard is happy to be playing alongside Cavs big men Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.

He is also intent on helping lead the Cavs to the promised land. As the tweet alluded to, Mitchell has been making an effort to find ways to build chemistry with Allen and Mobley. So far, it has shown in their recent contests. In fact, a two-man combination of Mitchell and Allen has been outscoring opponents by 11.5 points per 100 possessions. As for a combo of Mitchell and Mobley, the value is at +10.1.

Cavs fans are certainly excited because the possibility of seeing Cleveland in the playoffs again is becoming more and more likely.
