One of the crucial moments in last night's game five between the Heat and the Lakers was the previous possession in which Danny Green missed a wide-open three-pointer. After LeBron drew multiple defenders on him with his drive to the basket, he made an extra pass for Green, who found himself alone on the top of the three-point circle. If you are a Lakers fans, you couldn't ask for a better look at a potential game-winning shot.
After Green missed the shot and the Heat secured a rebound, and everyone started asking themselves why didn't LeBron take that shot instead considering the fact he already scored 40 points and was pretty much unstoppable the entire game. According to LeBron himself, they all trusted Green to take that shot, and they can live with having a shot like that in the last seconds of the game.
I trusted him, we trusted him, it just didn't go. You live with that.
Numerous fans and some players like Damian Lillard would take the last shot if they were LeBron simply because it's something leaders of a team should do in crunch situations like yesterday. For example, Lillard knows LeBron made the right decision to make that pass to Green, but his mindset when playing the game is different, so he would do things differently.
No... he made the right play... but I woulda shot on both they ass
The Lakers will have a second chance on Sunday evening to beat the Heat, and it will be interesting to see if we'll see the same aggressive LeBron. LeBron had a great game, and his dominance was felt throughout the entire game since it was him and Davis, who led the way for the Lakers. They were struggling to get help from other guys on the team, which will need to change if they want to win this series.
