D.J. Cooper, ex-Ohio University player, who went on to Europe to play for Panathinaikos, AEK, PAOK, and Monaco, was punished by FIBA with a two-year suspension for cheating on a drug test.
Cooper was most recently playing with the Bosnian National team in an attempt to join the team as a naturalized player. One of the steps in joining the team was taking a standard drug test.
After the assessment of the urine sample, the doctors concluded that the 28-year-old Cooper is in fact, pregnant. The be more accurate, the 'hCG 'hormone was discovered in the urine sample, and that's what gave him away. According to Google :
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by the placenta after implantation. The presence of hCG is detected in some pregnancy tests (HCG pregnancy strip tests)
Cooper later admitted he used his female friend's urine to cheat on the test. Seems like he'll be taking some time off for maternity leave.
