Chris Bosh on being elected into the '21 Hall of Fame class

Chris Bosh was in his office, going through his everyday routine, making sure his kids are paying attention to their virtual classes. Then, his phone rang. Just like that, a regular workday turned into one to remember. It's the day the 11x All-Star found out he became a Hall of Famer.

I was expecting it; you're supposed to get a call regardless if you make it or not. But, just hearing it, man, it's just kinda my life flashing before my eyes and just thinking about every bus ride, every trip that we took, every uniform that I put on, every teammate that I had, those were the things that were flooding my memory at the time and just being grateful for my whole situation and the ride so far.

Distinguished committees also selected seven enshrinees: Clarence "Fats" Jenkins from the Early African American Pioneers Committee, Pearl Moore from the Women's Veterans Committee, Val Ackerman, Cotton Fitzsimmons and Howard Garfinkel from the Contributor Committee, Bob Dandridge from the Veterans Committee, and Toni Kukoč from the International Committee.

To be mentioned up there with the greats of the game, I couldn't ask for anything better.

The Class of '21 will be enshrined in Springfield, Massachusetts, on Saturday, September 11, at the newly renovated Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and MassMutual Center. Chris Bosh, as well as other enshrinees, will face the challenge of summing up their incredible years-long careers into a minutes-long Hall of Fame speech. And although the 2x NBA champion won't have enough time to thank everyone who's been there with him throughout his basketball journey, he's going to give it his best.

I'm gonna try my best to really talk about the story of basketball going from the concrete in Hutchins, Texas to the recreation center in Highland Hills to Lincoln High School in South Dallas, just aspiring to be the best basketball player that I could be, but more importantly making friends, putting the work in, believing, dreaming, and just being a gym rat. That's what I remember most about the process.

Mark your calendars for September 11, when, for the first time ever, the second Hall of Fame class will be enshrined in the same year, headlined by the 37-year-old Bosh.
