Aside from being the man behind the world-famous Jordan brand, Michael Jordan is also the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets. The franchise has been under MJ’s control since 2010, and quite honestly, it seemed like “His Airness” entered uncharted territory as far as winning goes, as he hasn’t found much success as a team owner.

Nevertheless, Hornets legend Muggsy Bogues is still grateful for MJ.

“He’s doing his best”

Bogues loves to share his honest takes on NBA players but rarely rates team owners. But of course, everybody can make an exception when we are talking about Jordan.

According to Bogues, he couldn’t say much about Jordan’s style as an owner as he doesn’t know how things work up there in the front office. However, he is certain that the six-time NBA champion is giving it all he got, and he’s happy to have MJ as one of the pillars of the Hornets community.

MJ is no different from any other owner, just trying to put together a team that can bring a championship here in the city of Charlotte,” Bogues told Hoopshype. He’s doing his best. I’m not in the business of rating, I just know where we are today and all the hard work that he’s put into it and the community is really excited.”

Don’t get it twisted

For obvious reasons, fans still go crazy whenever they see Jordan show up during Hornets games. As a team owner, MJ ensures that Charlotte is stacking its roster with the best talents available. However, fans, and who wouldn’t, still can’t get enough of Jordan. In 2015, a famous news outlet actually asked the NBA icon if he ever pulls up in team practices and shows his players how it’s done.

As expected, “His Airness” again delighted us with an epic response.

“I’m pretty sure I can [teach them a lesson], so I don’t want to do that and demolish their confidence,” Jordan told French outlet L’Equipe. “So I stay away from them, I let them think they’re good...but I’m too old to do that anyway.”

At present, Jordan is 59 years old and seems to be concentrating on being a hands-on owner. But given his legacy and impact on the game, we wouldn’t be surprised if some fans still long to see him touch a basketball and hoop once again.
