Charles Barkley blasts the OKC Thunder with an „interesting“ analogy

Last night the Oklahoma City Thunder were hosting the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers without their superstar LeBron James. A game in which they were the clear favorites started off good, as they managed to get a 17 point lead in the first half.

But the Lakers had a strong second quarter, as they managed to turn it around and go to halftime with a 4-point lead. Eventually, the game went into overtime where the Lakers would prevail 138-128.

Their young guns stepped up, as Kyle Kuzma notched 32 points with 8 rebounds, Ivica Zubac had 26 points (12-14 FG) and 12 rebounds, and Lonzo Ball had 18 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds, all while covering Westbrook and making him shoot 7-30 from the field. On the other side, Paul George had 27 points with 8 rebounds and the struggling Westbrook scored 26 points with 13 assists, but with a horrible shooting percentage.

The Thunder started off the season slowly but managed to find a groove, as they were playing great and managing to maintain a spot in the top of the Western Conference standings. But they hit a wall again recently as they lost 5 of their last 6 games and fell down to 26-18.

TNT analyst Charles Barkley shared his opinion on the Thunder after last night’s loss:

When you’re playing against a bad team, you’re up 17 at home; you put your foot on their neck. First of all the Lakers don’t think they can win this game. When they’re down 17, you take it down to 25, 30 and the game is over. But now they in for a dog fight. But this says more about Oklahoma City, that’s why when I talk about legitimate teams in the West, OKC is not one of them. They are like a pretty girl that’s dumb.

A comparison that some people may find offensive, but we have gotten used to controversial comments from Sir Charles over the years. However, he is right, as the Thunder have to pick it up and be more consistent if they want to be viewed as a legit contender.
