Jordan Poole and Draymond Green

It was just another day at the office for the Golden State Warriors. Well, almost. Draymond Green and Jordan Poole got into a heated altercation, with reports stating that the fiery forward hit the young gunner during practice on Wednesday. The reigning champs consider the incident serious, and are looking to hand some disciplinary action to Green.

A punch at practice

Verbal sparring between NBA players is nothing new, but things usually don't escalate to physical altercations. That's exactly what happened between Green and Poole, though, as the former Michigan State standout took a swing and connected on the latter during the heated affair. Although Poole was not hurt during the incident, the Warriors immediately stopped practice and tried to iron things out between the two key cogs.

It's unclear what caused the whole thing to unravel, but this certainly isn't the first time the two have been at odds. In a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in November last year, the two had a verbal altercation during a timeout wherein former Warriors guard Gary Payton II and Steph Curry had to pull Green away from Poole.

Green was remorseful and apologetic after the incident, telling his teammates that he let his emotions get the best of him.

Will this make or break the Dubs' title defense?

Dubs' veteran Andre Iguodala, who the team recently re-signed to a one-year deal, was quick to defend Poole and Green and downplay the whole incident.

In professional sports, disagreements between teammates happen all the time. It's how they're able to move past them that defines a team's character. The Warriors have shown in the past that they can put their differences aside and focus on the task at hand: winning another NBA championship.

This latest incident involving Green and Poole will test that resolve yet again, but there's no doubt that the Dubs have what it takes to come out on top again. Only time will tell if they can put this whole brouhaha behind them and continue their quest for back-to-back titles.
