The 2021 official All NBA-Defensive team was announced, and the players listed there are usually mentioned around the league as top defenders. According to Shams Charania, the following players are listed in the first team All-Defense and second-team All-Defense:

First team: Rudy Gobert, Ben Simmons, Draymond Green, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday

Second team: Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Joel Embiid, Matisse Thybulle, Kawhi Leonard

Obviously, several players believe they should be the ones listed here, even though they are not. A few players made it either to the second team or the first team for the first time in their careers, like Matisse Thybulle or Bam Adebayo, who was in the second team last year. Nevertheless, all announced players are genuinely some of the most dominant defenders in the NBA and rightfully deserve to be among this elite group.
