According to Brian Windhorst, both Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics have no chance in landing Anthony Davis this summer

The battle for Anthony Davis continues this summer and it seems there are a few teams interested in his services and making the necessary risk to make an offer New Orleans Pelicans can't refuse. Even though the last night's NBA draft lottery should have been focused more about the upcoming prospects there was a notion that teams who had chances of drafting the first pick would immediately use that pick to trade for Anthony Davis.

Fortunately for New Orleans Pelicans, they landed the first pick and they will probably draft Zion Williamson, however, despite getting a player who can contribute immediately Anthony Davis is still interested in leaving the franchise to go somewhere where he can immediately compete for a championship.

The Los Angeles Lakers were the team who were pursuing Davis the most in the last couple of months but it seems they are now very far from trading for Davis, simply because the Pelicans management is no longer interested. In an interview on The Jump, Brian Windhorst shared why both Lakers and Celtics are no longer in position to arrange a deal to send Davis their way.

"From what I've heard the Pelicans are not interested in making a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. Maybe had they got the filet mignon in Zion Williamson pick. I think the Lakers are still out of the position even though they have the fourth pick.

Boston's trade package lost steam last night. While we were celebrating Memphis that pick would have gone to Boston and moved back and Boston would have had an extra lottery pick to offer and their own pick didn't move up which we didn't expect too. So instead of having two lottery picks to offer they only have on and it's the 14th pick which is not so good. And the big problem for Boston is can you can go all in on Davis offer ahead of the draft because you want to trade the draft picks to New Orleans even though you don't know if Irving is staying. Kyrie is under no obligations to tell them if he is staying."
