DeMar DeRozan has for many years been the Raptors go-to-guy and one of Kyle Lowry’s best friends. After he departed from Toronto in a trade with Spurs who sent Kawhi their way, Lowry still remembers his former teammate in a most specific way.
Both Lowry and DeRozan had their own type of handshake for years and now that DeMar is long gone, Lowry did it again in their home season opener against Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lowry signed with the Raptors back in 2012 while DeMar was already there. They played 6 years together and had some success during the regular season while often not delivering in the playoffs. This was really obvious during the last season vs LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
A lot of reports indicated Lowry was unhappy with Raptors management to trade DeMar away, however, their team is in a great position to make it far in the preseason this season as well.
The Raptors have started off really good at the beginning of the season and are currently 3-0. It will be important for them to be healthy and with the experience, they already have there it’s highly possible they can reach the Eastern Conference Finals again.
