Kyle Korver thinks Donovan Mitchell is one of the best young players he’s ever seen in his career

The Utah Jazz is on the brink of elimination from the playoffs against the Houston Rockets even though most of the games these series have been really close and the Jazz had a chance to win at least one game. One of the brightest spots for the Jazz was without the doubt Donovan Mitchell who has already proved he is the next big thing among guards in the NBA.

His teammate Kyle Korver who has been in the league for 16 years shared some interesting thoughts about Mitchell and his ability to take over games while at the same time being a great leader even though this is only his second season in the league.

“I have never been around a young player like Donovan Mitchell. I have never seen someone so young take ownership of a team, take ownership of his play … do it with charisma, do it with class. I have never seen that in my 16 years in the NBA. And he missed a tough shot tonight, but it’s just going to be part of his story. If you’ve played any meaningful basketball in the NBA, you have a shot like that. … I don’t care who it is in history, everyone has a shot they want back. I think of who he is, he’s going to put too much on that shot.”

Korver also said the Jazz missed many open shots and dunks which should have gone in and despite all that the entire team is proud of Mitchell and everything he achieved so far.

“We missed free throws. We missed dunks. We missed layups. We missed threes. It was not about that shot. We had so many more chances to win that game. But we’re super proud of him. … He’s on a great path in this NBA”.

Game 4 between the Rockets and Jazz is scheduled for tonight and if the Jazz still want to compete in the playoffs they will need all the players to step up big time tonight.
