Kobe Bryant and LeBron James show support for Nike and Colin Kaepernick’s campaign

In one of his closing statements, while attending a New York fashion show where he was revealing his latest shoe, LeBron James said: “I stand with Nike, all day, every day”. This was the 30th anniversary of the “Just Do It” campaign which was built around ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, unveiled his first ad of the new campaign Monday. “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything,” it said.

James previously pledged his support for Kaepernick in an Instagram post on Tuesday:

The new campaign sparked a lot of debate in the community, with some fans expressing displeasure over Nike’s enormous support for Kaepernick, who started a wave of protests among NFL players against different types of social injustice like police brutality and racial inequality.

There were numerous angry fans who even went that far and started burning and cutting out the signature logos on their gear and posting that on different social media channels.

Apart from LeBron James, Kaepernick also has the support of Kobe Bryant. Kobe said he would’ve protested had he still be an active player.
