News about LeBron James joining the Lakers has brought up some interesting conversations. LeBron is definitely joining possibly the largest and most famous franchise in NBA history.
Lakers have always been a favorite destination for many NBA stars through its storied history. Kobe Bryant is considered by many the biggest Laker in franchise history since he played 20 seasons for the team and purple and gold and won 5 championships there.
The question which is always open for the debate is the one involving a one-on-one game between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James and who would win?
A couple of years back while he was in London, Kobe shared his thoughts on this discussion, and in true “Black Mamba” style gave the people what they want: “I’d win. That’s what I do. One-on-one — that’s easy for me. One-on-one is how I grew up playing. It’s, like, my thing. LeBron is more like a Magic Johnson. He’s a great passer and plays an all-around game. At the core of me, I’m a one-on-one player. I’d do that in my sleep.
Former players like Rick Barry and Chauncey Billups gave their take as well on this topic.
Chauncey said: “I think Kobe is probably a better one-on-one player, but just in a one-on-one game, I think Bron is probably too big and strong. So Bron would probably win.
Rick Barry another NBA legend thinks Kobe is way better in a one-on-one game. “I’d say Kobe would beat him. Kobe has more moves. And Kobe’s the better shooter. LeBron might beat him in one game if LeBron got hot with outside shooting.
