Klay Thompson’s father says the Clippers are a real contender this offseason to sign his son

Although the NBA playoffs are in full swing, some free agency talk has already begun as some big-name players will be available this summer. One of the most desirable players this offseason will definitely be Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson.

Klay Thompson’s father and Lakers legend Mychal Thompson decided to answer some questions from fans via his Twitter and responded to an awkward question regarding his son’s free agency and the Clippers chances as a contender to sign him.

“Klay or No Klay…The Clips hav arrived to the Port of Championship Contenders,my man…They are for REAL…They aint a Ghost Ship no more…And if they add Kahwi? YIKES!!!”

The Clippers definitely burst onto the scene this season with a surprising playoff appearance, as they have a chance to make some big moves this summer.

There have been speculations of Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard wanting to join them, and if that happens, singing Klay Thompson next to him could become even more of a reality.

They would create an instant contender with those two and alongside the core of players from this season like Lou Williams, Danilo Gallinari and others.

Klay has said numerous times he wants to spend his whole career with the Warriors, but if they don’t offer him the max and the Clippers come in with a tempting offer you never know what could happen.

But as of now, Mychal Thompson says Klay is not even thinking about free agency, but is rather focused on the playoffs and bringing another championship to the Bay.
