Klay Thompson is currently in the process of rehab from his torn ACL injury and getting back to his former self. In the meantime, Klay hosted on the Uninterrupted show “Kneading Dough” where he discussed a lot of things not so related to basketball. We knew Klay is a cool guy and a very humble person, not overwhelmed with fame or money.
NBA players, even in their rookie season, receive a significant amount of money; most of them are not prepared. Even though Klay came from a well off family, the first check he got from the Warriors surprised him because he wasn’t aware he will ever make that kind of money so early in his life.
“I still remember the number when I saw the check. It was incredible. You try to keep it simple and not to overspend on nice things. It’s not that money that made me happy. It was great to see that check, but I lived such a great life at the time
When it comes to money and material things, Klay showed extreme maturity in the interview and talked about the values he cherishes in life.
“Wealth is a mindset. If you have relationships and experiences around you, those are priceless. It’s better than any car you can get, any big house. It’s just about those relationships for me. “
