Kevin Durant was furious with the NBA after they removed him from the game against the Raptors

Last night’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors was pretty unusual, and it ended with Kevin Durant posting a tweet in which he directly disses the NBA and their actions. At the beginning of the game in which the Raptors eventually won 123-117, Kevin Durant wasn’t supposed to start because of health and safety protocols. At the end of the first quarter, Durant finally checked into the game, which was the first game in his career coming from the bench.

However, later in the third quarter, Durant was ordered to sit out the rest of the game because of an ‘abudance of caution’ as the NBA later stated. Apparently, Duran was in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, and the results came in when he was still in the game.

After the game, Durant posted a tweet in which he was clearly frustrated by the whole situation, which eventually was one of the main reasons the Nets lost the game.

Yo @nba, your fans aren’t dumb!!!! You can’t fool em with your Wack ass PR tactics.. #FREE7

It was also later announced Durant will probably miss the Nets game against the Sixers and will not travel with the team to Philadelphia. It’s still not sure how many games he might miss and whether he will have to follow the protocols and remain under quarantine for ten days, or he might play if he once again tested negative. That type of confusion is something we haven’t seen so far, and Durant has every right to be mad at the NBA, especially if he hasn’t tested positive for Covid because it cost the Nets a chance to win the game. It will be interesting to see how the NBA will react to his Tweets and whether he will be fined for his comments.
