Kendrick Nunn is the most pleasant surprise in the NBA right now

The NBA season started over a week ago, and one of the biggest surprises is, without a doubt, the rise of Kendrick Nunn. The 24-year-old Miami Heat rookie has been playing out of his mind ever since the season started and is one of the biggest reasons the Miami Heat are currently sitting on the 3rd spot in the eastern conference.

Nunn was overlooked by every single team in the league last year. The Warriors gave him a chance but only in the G-League, and ever since then, the guard that attended Oakland University is proving he belongs in the NBA.

He made the most out of his minutes in the preseason and continued to have incredible performances when the season started. 6’2″ guard is currently averaging 21 points per game shooting exceptionally well from the field at almost 50 percent.

Nunn is incredibly fast, and it’s hard to stay in front of him. He can create his own shot and shows he is more than capable of attacking the rim without any fear. His defense has also been superb, averaging almost two steals per game. Nunn has been excelling at both ends of the floor, which was a blessing in disguise after Jimmy Butler’s injury.

Miami Heat coaching staff said they plan to keep Nunn in the starting lineup as long as possible even after Butler returns. They believe this will work exceptionally well to their advantage because they will have two players that can do various things efficiently at the same time.

Kendrick Nunn is a great success story that proves hard work and passion can get you places. Even though the season is still young, there is no doubt he will be a valuable piece in the rotation for Erik Spoelstra.
