Karl Malone explains why LeBron James is the most talented player he ever saw

LeBron James is in his 18th NBA season and once again on the quest for his fifth NBA championship. His individual performance in the last few years is astonishing when you consider all the mileage he already has on his body. The Los Angeles Lakers are once again a legitimate title contender this year after trading for Russell Westbrook and signing a few veterans along the way. Despite all of his achievements and the fact his career is still not over, fans dislike LeBron for different reasons, sometimes reasonable but sometimes completely uncalled for.

Many fans would put LeBron on their top 3 list of all-time when it comes to the GOAT conversation. When it comes to former NBA players, Karl Malone is one of the players that is Lebron’s biggest fan. The second-leading scorer in NBA history admires LeBron and believes he is the most talented player he ever saw. Just like Malone, LeBron is a physical specimen that you don’t see very often. On top of that, LeBron is a hard worker who is continually improving every aspect of his craft.

I think LeBron James is the most talented player I’ve ever seen. Sometimes you will hear people make a statement, but they don’t back it up with nothing. Let me explain it to you. LeBron James is about 6’8″, about 265 pounds and I would say to do the things he could do, we will never see it again.

Malone also realizes many people don’t appreciate LeBron because of reasons he can’t understand. According to Malone, someone who loves basketball should appreciate everything LeBron is doing every time he steps on the court.

For all those haters out there, sit back and enjoy—every now or then, you see a player that comes through like that.

Unlike many older players who sometimes don’t have nice things to say about this generation of players and the game itself, Malone believes there were numerous great players in the league after he retired from the NBA. Like LeBron, these players are so talented they don’t come as often, and according to Malone, fans should respect their names and everything they accomplished.

I could say, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, and Westbrook. Every now or then, you see guys coming in, and you say wow. People don’t know how to take them, so they become haters.

LeBron is currently the third-leading scorer behind only Karl Malone himself and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. LeBron needs 1561 points to surpass Malone on the list. If he continues playing the same way he is now, there is no doubt he will become the second-leading scorer in the next two seasons. Whether that will certify him on many people’s GOAT lists remains to be seen, but Karl Malone is definitely a big fan of LeBron’s while he continues to write his legacy in the NBA.
