Jeremy Lin decided to leave the NBA and join the Beijing Ducks

Jeremy Lin is no longer an NBA player, and from the upcoming season will be a member of the Beijing Ducks. After winning an NBA championship last season with the Toronto Raptors, playing fewer minutes on a nightly basis decreased his value on the market and he wasn’t able to find a team that would be interested in his services.

A couple of weeks ago, Lin said free agency gets harder for him year after year and said he actually hit rock bottom this summer despite winning the NBA championship.  As a backup point guard, Lin played in 23 games last season for the Raptors averaging 7 points per game. During the playoffs, he only played in 8 games averaging only 1 point per game.

At the age of 31, Lin was hoping to play for maybe 2,3 more seasons in the NBA, but unfortunately for him at this point in time, it seems his NBA career is permanently over. Most players that end up in China, finish their careers overseas and chances of him getting back to the NBA are almost non-existent.

Lin played 9 seasons in the NBA, averaging 11.6 points in 480 games, and will always be remembered as someone who made it despite having all odds against him. During the Linsanity period which lasted for a month while playing for the New York Knicks, Lin made all the headlines putting up incredible numbers and performances. Unfortunately, the Knicks decided to let him go and since than Lin switched one team after the other and wasn’t the same player ever since.
