Isiah Thomas explains why people will look at LeBron as the GOAT in 10 years

Former NBA player Isiah Thomas made a guest appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast to talk about multiple things from his career and the current NBA. He also reflected on LeBron James and the fact he’s never seen anybody dominate the game in the same manner and therefore showed incredible respect for him. Isiah was always very vocal about his admiration for LeBron. When you consider he’s been in the NBA for over 40 years, playing with and against numerous HOF, his opinion on this topic has some weight.

Thomas said he never saw someone who could dominate the game on so many levels as LeBron, breaking records continuously every year. LeBron’s consistency and ability to be one of the best players in the league at the age of 35, playing in his 17th NBA season, is one of his most remarkable feats. It shows pure dedication to his craft, something that is rarely seen not just in the NBA but in any sport.

We have never seen in the NBA a player like LeBron James, and he breaks a record every single night just to remind you that you have never seen this before. Some people will have a record and dominate in one category, but this dude is in the top 10 shining in every statistical category. That never happened from the guard or wing position in our sport. When its all said and done, it’s going to be hard for people to look back ten years from now and say he wasn’t the best because you can have your emotional best. We have never seen this type of athlete, body, performance, consistency from a guy this long. We just haven’t seen it.

Thomas also commented about Jordan not being his biggest challenge during his playing time in the NBA, which received many negative comments from fans. There is obviously some animosity between the two because it’s also true that Thomas was always consistent about his remarks about MJ, and his admiration for LeBron was always there, especially recently, after he won his fourth NBA championship.
