One of the craziest and funniest basketball fights ever

Cheap shots, fights, and altercations on the basketball court are not rare. It is never nice to see, as the sportsmanship and camaraderie between players are of great importance. But when emotions take over, we get some of the most interesting clips ever. Thie situation that happened in the Philippines between former NBA player Terrence Jones and Calvin Abueva back in 2019 is a mix between some very ugly stuff and hilarious comedy.

In a Honda PBA Commissioner's Cup game between Phoenix and TNT, things started to get heated in the 4th quarter. Abueva decided to push Jones off the ball and stand over him for no apparent reason. Jones would not back down, and he hit Abueva in the groin. Abueva fell to the floor, rolling around in pain and eventually running all over the court to ease the pain. At the same time, Jones was in the huddle dancing. The situation was already heated and weird, but it got worse soon.

On the very next possession, Abueva missed a shot as Jones got the rebound while running to the baseline. Abueva would chase him down with evil intentions and took a wild swing from the back. He nonchalantly raised his hand like he committed a regular foul, but Abueva knew what he was doing, getting revenge for the groin shot. It's safe to say things went off the rails as the furious Jones had to be restrained from assaulting Abueva.

The serious situation got funny real quickly as Abueva started dancing on the scorers' table and started vibing to Eminem playing in the arena. Just a hilarious scene. Abueva was ejected, suspended, and fined 50,000 Philippine pesos for the incident, as Jones got the last laugh getting the win and scoring 40 in that game. It is a prime example you never know what you will see in a basketball game, no matter what league. Even a mix of a fight and dance-off between players. I love this game.
