HAKEEM OLAJUWON’S take on the Jordan vs. LeBron debate: ‘LeBron is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison’

Hakeem Olajuwon is one of the most dominant centers ever to play the game of basketball. He was a guard trapped in a big men body with various moves that enabled him to score on pretty much anybody. His knowledge of the game is also superior, so it was interesting to hear his thoughts about the never-ending LeBron vs. Jordan debate.

Former Houston Rockets star Hakeem told CNBC that it’s always been Jordan for him, and apparently, his opinion won’t change when it comes to this debate on who is the most superior player he ever faced.

“When people start comparing him with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison. Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league, and he was very creative. That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”

Hakeem praised LeBron James and considered him one of the best players in NBA history, but his vote for a better player between the two goes for Jordan. Hakeem also said his favorite career moment was game the Rockets won game seven against New York Knicks led by another legendary center Patrick Ewing.

Among the fans today, this debate has picked up traction once again after LeBron won his 4th NBA championship and is now one step closer to having the same type of success Jordan had when he was playing. Having Anthony Davis by his side with a solid supporting cast gives LeBron a chance to win one or two more championships for sure. If he continues to stay healthy and play at the level, we all saw him play in the playoffs and especially in the finals against the Heat
