Gilbert Arenas is not pleased with Vince Carter coming back for one more season and has an interesting argument to support him

It was announced yesterday that Vince Carter will return for his 22nd NBA season which means he will be one the only player in NBA history who played through 4 decades which is an impressive accomplishment. Many fans are excited to see Vince back for one season since he still showed glimpses from his early days last season. Those moments are rare but still happen because Carter has taken a very studious approach to stay in shape which is a key benchmark for a long career.

Despite all the excitement about his return, there are some who are not so pleased with the idea and have a valid argument to support it. One of them is a former All-Star Gilbert Arenas who said that Vince Carter coming back for one year basically means he is stealing a job from a younger player that is ready to chase to his dreams of playing professional basketball.

“I respect yall love but there are young players trying to live the dream u did and every year you play that’s one player getting cut from his dream because they will take your name over them.”

Gilbert Arenas officially retired a couple of seasons ago and even though he was a great scorer for several years in the league, he will mostly be remembered by the ridiculously big contract given to him by the Wizards. That contract will probably be remembered as one of the worst in NBA history but Arenas did not complain.

Even though his argument against Carter sounds valid and makes sense to a certain degree, I believe it’s definitely a good sign Carter is coming back because it shows what dedication, hard work, and knowledge can do for you if you use them correctly as Vince Carter did in the past 2 decades of playing professional basketball.
