Full MVP results are out, which show Nikola Jokic was a dominant winner with a few interesting surprises

After it was announced Nikola Jokic is this year’s regular-season MVP, the complete MVP voting results came out, and there isn’t much surprise when it comes to the top three candidates. According to Sidelinesources, Jokic received 91 first-place votes, while the second was Steph Curry, who received five even though Joel Embiid was second behind Jokic to win the MVP award.

Nikola Jokic was the most consistent player all year long, playing in every single game while posting legendary numbers along the way. He averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists, leading the Nuggets when they needed him the most. Joel Embiid, on the other hand, unfortunately, got injured at one point of the season even though, the majority of the time, he did play like a true MVP. Steph Curry was doing remarkable things for the Warriors this year, missing the playoffs by just an inch, so it’s reasonable he wasn’t really that close to becoming the MVP.

One peculiar thing that pops out when you look at the list is that Derrick Rose received one first-place vote, even though he was predominantly coming from the bench. So the love for Rose is real even though he is no longer the MVP caliber player like he was 10 years ago.
