For Ray Allen there is no doubt, MJ is better than Kobe

During his interview on Dan Patrick radio show, Ray Allen said he considers Michael Jordan being a more unstoppable player than Kobe Bryant.

“Certainly Michael”, said Allen and explained his decision: “It is hard to really compare the generations. You know if you look at what MJ did in his era. I mean I played in between both those eras. The rules were totally different. Like you can’t touch a guy now.”

Ray was also asked if he agreed with what Phil Jackson said when he was promoting his book years ago. “If Mike played today, he would average 45 in his prime.” Allen agreed quickly: “Easy! That’s why so much is made about the eras. It’s just not a comparison. To compare what we do now to what’s happened in the ’80s and the ’90s.”

He noted one of the biggest differences between two eras.

“Right now, when we see a foul, we are always guessing, did he get touched? What happen, you know?”, said Allen and added: “But back then in the 80’s and early 90’s, he just took his elbow right across his head and it was a real foul.”

Walter Ray Allen Jr. is an American former professional basketball player. He played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 2018.
