EVAN FOURNIER EXPLAINS HOW LAKERS are the worst when it comes to complaining to the refs

Orlando Magic guard Evan Fournier made a guest appearance on a French show called NBA Extra, which talks about everything related to the league alongside some French players. Fournier discussed several things from this past season playing in the bubble. However, one of the topics he touched upon is the teams continually complaining to the refs to get any advantage.

Fournier specifically mentioned the Los Angeles Lakers who, according to him, are known around the league as massive complainers. Fournier specifically remembered their first game against the Lakers, which was before the bubble in which they complained to the refs for most of the time despite playing in a scrimmage.

Our first pre-bubble game was against the Lakers, and they complained from the first to the last minute, although it was a scrimmage, no TVs or anything. It’s just how the Lakers approach games.

That somewhat doesn’t come as a surprise if you’ve been watching Lakers the majority of the season. Every team indeed complains to the refs, and it’s in some strange way that is an integral part if you are playing competitively, but the Lakers sometimes take it too far.

In the finals series against the Heat, there were several occasions where Lakers were flopping, playing dirty, and complained to the refs for calls that they committed. Whether that will continue in game six remains to be seen. Still, this is something that frustrates players around the league, and Fournier is one of those players who decided to speak out about the issue.
