ERIK SPOELSTRA RESPONDS TO PEOPLE thinking this series is over ‘We don’t give a s**t what everybody else thinks’

The Miami Heat lost their second game in the finals series 114-124, and throughout the game, it was evident the Lakers are a much superior team considering the fact the Heat are missing some of their key players. Erik Spoelstra‘s strategy to play zone defense throughout most of the game didn’t work against the Lakers with LeBron and Rondo, capable of finding their teammates in the best possible positions to score.

The first two games in some way exposed the Heat, and the notion among the fans and NBA analysts is that the Lakers will sweep the Heat in four games. That will depend on Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, who are both still questionable for this series. After the game, Erik Spoelstra had a straightforward message for everyone who thinks the Heat will fall in four games.

We don’t give a s**t what everybody else thinks.

Erik Spoelstra

Spoelstra understands they are facing an outstanding opponent and is aware of his players’ mindset and mentality. They don’t plan to give up, and their next steps are to figure out all the mistakes they made in the first two games so they can come prepared and potentially surprise the Lakers.

It’s simple as that. If you want something badly enough, you’ll figure it out, and our group is extremely stubborn, persistent, and we need to figure out and how to overcome this opponent. We respect the high-quality opponent we’re playing, and you have to figure it out and overcome it.

Erik Spoelstra

The next game is scheduled for Sunday, and the most important thing for the Heat will be to see if at least Adebayo can play while Dragic’s situation is more complicated, and he is still doubtful for this series. Spoelstra will have to figure out how to defend better because the zone defense doesn’t work against the Lakers, who have several players that can make the right plays at the right time.
